Emergency Assistance for Sulawesi People
Friday last week (September 28, 2018), a 7.5 magnitude earthquake that triggered tsunami waves up to 3 meters high struck the coastal areas of the island of Sulawesi and its provincial capital of Palu. Conditions in the devastated areas are grim with the death toll rising to more than a thousand. Many families ~ especially women and children are trapped in the area with impassable roads and no transport access, food, and water supplies are now running low. Immediate assistance is badly needed to beef up relief operations in the area.
