On April 15, 2019, I will be running the Boston Marathon. This is oldest annual marathon in the world, and for those who love the sport, the most prestigious race a runner could participate in. It is a noble tradition for runners of the Boston Marathon to raise funds for noteworthy causes. I am pledging to finish the Boston Marathon for the children of Virlanie Foundation.
People & Links

Virlanie foundation is a child-caring institution in the Philippines that helps among the poorest of the poor children. I’ve visited the facilities of Virlanie Foundation myself and had the opportunity to meet its founders, and the kids themselves. I truly believe that this organization is doing exceptional work in helping these kids. I’ve added some details about this organization and the great work that they do below.

It would mean so much to me if you could pledge donations towards this amazing institution. You can donate through your debit or credit cards using the link provided in this page.

I’d like to thank all of you in advance for your support, and I encourage you to give as much as you can. I am very excited to participate in this amazing marathon and even more motivated to cross that finish line because I know that in my own way, I am helping bring back smiles and secure better futures for the Virlanie foundation Kids. Maraming Salamat po!

Virlanie Foundation, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit, non-sectarian, Filipino institution that empowers, loves and protects the abandonned, abused, exploited, neglected, orphaned, and those among the poorest of the poor children.

Virlanie’s actions are divided into 7 pillars of expertise.

It starts on the core of our foundation, Street, where we put our efforts on providing basic social services to children and families who need it the most. Second is Community, where we work on preventing the occurrence of abuse and neglect among children through building stronger families and

sustainable communities. Third is Residential, where we protect, shelter and care for children through providing them a loving family atmosphere.

Our 3 remaining pillars, Health & Psychosocial, Education and Integration are focused on providing holistic support to all children cared through the first 3 pillars. The last pillar, Advocacy, is our effort on defending and promoting children’s rights.

Since its creation in 1992 by the French social worker Dominique Lemay, Virlanie helped more than 17,000 children in need of special protection through its innovative familial approach and its various programs and services.

Virlanie Foundation’s Babies and Toddlers’ Home

Virlanie Foundation currently takes care of 200 underprivileged children—those who were surrendered, abandoned, neglected, and those with special needs. Young children from 0-5 years old are housed in Virlanie’s Babies and Toddlers Home (BTH).

With meager resources and limited funding, the Foundation faces constant challenges in providing for the needs of the children in its care, including food, shelter, clothing, education and developmental needs, medical and psychological care.

BTH, in particular, operates on a tight annual budget to be able to take care of around 40 children, and pay for the salaries of 8 staff members, including caregivers, teacher, supervisor and reliever. Unfortunately, BTH has been in a difficult financial situation in the past years.

 How you can #HelpOurBabies

Cash donations will go a long way in making sure that the children’s basic needs are met. Any amount given wholeheartedly will help the Foundation give back the smile to the babies and toddlers in BTH.
